Bedtime Stretches

Yoga in bed tips to gently detox the body, clear the mind and rest the spirit by following these 4 step stretch tips. These exercises require no equipment and can be over and done each morning to start your day off right.

Seated Forward Fold

1. Sit with legs outstretched.

2. Prepare cushions or pillows on legs

3. Fold the trunk of the body over the legs, then breath and relax

4.  Stay for 5 breaths.

Benefits: hamstring stretch, lower back stretch and calms mind

Reclined Twist

1. Prepare cushions.

2. Sit in front of cushions with knees bent to one side, then recline back on cushions.

3. Relax arms and enjoy the gentle lower back stretch. Don’t forget to do both sides for an even twist

4. Stay for 5 breaths.

Benefits: lower back stretch and light backbend, good for detox and digestions

Legs Up The Wall Pose

1. Prepare folded blanket.

2. Set hips on blanket.

3. Extend legs upward and relax arms. 

4. Stay for 5 breaths.

Benefits: reverses circulation of blood calming central nervous system, aids in lymphatic drainage (boosting immune system) and helps with insomnia

Reclined Hero Pose

1. Prepare cushions for back.

2. Prepare blanket for seat.

3. Sit on blanket with ankles on both sides of the hip, then slowly recline back onto cushions.

4. Stay for 5 breaths.

Benefits: leg stretch, lower body joint stretch, relaxes body

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTOR

Angela began her yoga journey over 20 years ago in America. Shortly after receiving her yoga certification in Costa Rica, she moved to Asia. Taiwan was the first stop and she spent over 15 years teaching yoga to people of all ages, travelling  and learning Mandarin. Four years ago, Angela transferred from Taipei Pure yoga to Hong Kong Pure yoga Centrium. She brought along with her small dog, Charlie and started her own small business The Puppy Pocket. Angela loves the vibrancy of Hong Kong and enjoys the blend of east of west culture. Currently she is teaching -both in the studio and online.
